Who
We Are
The Yorke Regional Development Board is an Incorporated
Association whose continued financial support for the core business
activities is provided through a five year resource agreement between
the South Australian Department of Trade and Economic Development,
and all of the Local Government Authorities in the Yorke Region.
The Yorke Regional Development Board is governed by nine Board Members
from across the Region, with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise,
providing a broad geographical and industry representation.
District Councils within the Yorke Region are:

- District Council of Yorke Peninsula
- Wakefield Regional Council
- District Council of Mallala
- District Council of the Copper Coast
The Board has an Executive Committee and Finance

What
We Do
The Yorke Regional Development Board was
established in partnership with the South Australian State Government
and the five Local Government Authorities in the Region. The purpose,
objectives and functions as set out below are the primary guidelines
for the Board's activities.
Purpose
To
achieve sustainable and balanced economic development within the
Region.
Objectives
- To encourage, promote, facilitate
and monitor the economic development of the Region
- To provide information and
advice to promote business development within the Region
- To maximise job creation
and improve career opportunities in the Region
Functions
- To
promote the Region

To identify the opportunities for investment in the Region and
encourage that investment
- To
identify value-adding opportunities and encourage growth of industries
and employment opportunities within the Region

To identify the infrastructure needs of the Region and encourage
the provision of that infrastructure

To promote equitable delivery of services within the Region
The
Board provides an effective vehicle for the Government and community
to combine their knowledge and capacity to improve business management,
better utilise skills and technology and to enhance the Region's
economic development. The Board's charter is to assist regional
industry and business to grow and expand. The Board is an organisation
designed to intervene in the development process to achieve outcomes
for local communities that would not be available without concerted
local action.

The Yorke Regional Development Board provides confidential assistance
to new and existing businesses free of charge. The Business Advisor
provides assistance with:

Business Adviser also has access to:
